iDig FAQ
Answers to the questions I receive most often about iDig. If this page does not solve your problem, please reach out through the contact form. A feature overview is available on the iDig page.
Managing saved images
Where are the images I save stored?
Images saved with iDig are stored only in a dedicated iDig folder on your own device. They are never uploaded to or kept on my servers.
Each save creates its own folder, which you can browse from the Folder tab.
How do I delete a saved image folder?
Swipe the item to the left in the folder list to reveal the delete button, then tap it.
Note that deleting from inside the app removes the data immediately and permanently — there is no trash or recycle bin to recover it from. I strongly recommend backing up anything important to a computer on a regular basis.
When I send images to the camera roll or Google Photos, the order changes or some images are missing.
On some devices, handing several images at once to the standard iOS share feature can reorder them or drop a few. Because the implementation simply passes the images straight to a built-in OS feature, there is very little the app can adjust to work around it. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
As a workaround, open the image files saved by iDig in the standard iOS Files app and share or save them from there. This often produces the correct result.
The in-app browser stays blank and never loads.
Low storage space on your device can cause a range of problems, including save errors and rendering failures in the browser. Check your free space under Settings → General → iPhone Storage, remove what you no longer need, and try again.
Premium (purchase and restore)
I bought Premium before, but I am back to being a regular user (after changing devices or reinstalling).
Open the Settings tab, go to "Buy" → "About Premium", and first tap "Restore purchases".
If that does not bring Premium back, tap "Verify receipt" on the same screen. Because of the product type it uses, the iDig one-time Premium purchase is not included in Apple's standard restore flow, so one-time purchases are recovered through "Verify receipt" instead. You may be asked for your Apple ID password when you run it.
In both cases you must be signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the purchase. If neither step restores your purchase, please contact me through the contact form.
How do I cancel the monthly subscription?
Cancellation is handled on the App Store side. Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, then go to "Subscriptions" and cancel iDig Premium there.
If you cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal date, you will not be charged for that cycle. You can keep using Premium features until the period you have already paid for ends.
Other
Which languages are supported?
iDig supports 16 languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Polish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. The display language follows your device's language setting automatically.
Is it okay to save copyrighted images?
Please use saved content only for personal purposes, and do not redistribute or publish copyrighted material. See the Terms of Service for details.
If you are a rights holder and would like your content blocked from this app, please let me know through the contact form.
Where should I send feature requests or bug reports?
You can reach me from the Settings tab under "About this app" → "Email a bug or request". The contact form on this site works too — attaching a screenshot makes it much easier for me to understand what is happening.
