Where did that feature go?
I often hear "it used to be there and now it's gone." In almost every case only the location changed and the feature is still there. Here are the ones people ask about most.
The list of site shortcuts
Tap the bookmark icon at the bottom of the browser screen, then pick the "Sites" tab — second from the left in the sheet that opens.
These used to sit as a tab at the bottom of the screen. This is by far the most common question I get; twelve people have written in about it. I am sorry for making it hard to find. It now sits right next to the "×" that closes the sheet.
Restore Purchases and Verify Receipt
Settings tab → Purchase → near the bottom of the purchase screen you will find Restore Purchases and Verify Receipt.
These two always sit side by side. Try Restore Purchases first, then Verify Receipt if nothing comes back. See Ads & Premium for the full steps.
Reporting a bug or a request
Settings tab → About this app → Email a bug or request.
Writing from there fills in your iOS version, app version and device name automatically, which saves a round trip of me asking. If the app will not open, use the contact form instead.
The button that turns video detection on and off
It is at the bottom of the browser screen. Tapping it toggles the setting.
While it is off (or locked), no preview window appears even when a video plays. If detection "suddenly stopped working", check this first (see also when nothing will save).
Checking and clearing temporary files
Settings tab → Reset → Check and delete temporary files.
Working files created during conversion and saving can pile up. If audio conversion keeps failing no matter what you try, clearing them here can fix it. Only the app's own working files are removed — your saved videos and images are untouched.
I get logged out every time I reopen the app
Settings tab → Cache / Cookies / History → check Clear on launch.
While that is on, cookies are cleared every time the app starts, so site logins do not survive. It has nothing to do with buying Premium — the purchase flow never touches cookies. This setting turned out to be the real cause for someone who wrote in saying logouts began "around when I paid".
How links that open a new tab behave
Settings tab → Links that open a new tab.
"Always open in the same tab" is on by default. Turn it off and you will get a confirmation dialog when a link wants to open a new tab.
If it is not listed here
Settings differ slightly between apps. If you cannot spot it, scrolling the Settings tab from top to bottom once often turns it up. If it still eludes you, just write in from Email a bug or request above.
Everything on this page was checked against the shipping iCap 8.3 and iDig 11.12.
