About saved data

Where is the data I save stored?

Data saved in each app is stored only in that app's dedicated folder on your own device. It is never uploaded to or kept on my servers.

This also means that deleting an app deletes the data saved in it. I strongly recommend backing up anything important to a computer on a regular basis.

How do I delete saved data?

Swipe the item to the left in the list to reveal the delete button, then tap it.

Deleting from inside the app removes the data immediately and permanently — there is no trash to recover it from, so please double-check before you delete.

The app is unstable, and sometimes the screen stays blank.

Low storage space on your device can cause a range of problems, including save errors and rendering failures. Check your free space under Settings → General → iPhone Storage, remove what you no longer need, and try again.

If only certain sites misbehave in an app with a built-in browser, try "Clear All Cache" in the Settings tab, then fully quit and relaunch the app.

Premium (purchase and restore)

What does Premium unlock?

The benefits differ per app, but every app removes ads with Premium.

In concat-img, Premium additionally unlocks exporting selected images as a PDF. In the remaining apps, removing ads is the only Premium benefit.

For iDig and iCap, see the iDig FAQ and each app's own page.

I bought Premium, but I am back to being a regular user (after changing devices or reinstalling).

Open the Settings tab, go to "Buy" → "About Premium", and tap "Restore purchases". If that does not work, tap "Verify receipt" on the same screen. You may be asked for your Apple ID password when you run it.

In both cases you must be signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the purchase. If neither step restores your purchase, please contact me through the contact form.

How each app is laid out

How do I use concat-img (image joiner)?

The app has three tabs: "Join images", "Clips" and "Settings". Pick the images you want to combine on the Join images tab; the result is saved to the Clips tab.

Exporting selected images as a PDF is a Premium-only feature.

How do I use webcap (full-page web capture)?

The app has four tabs: "Browser", "Tabs", "Clips" and "Settings". Open the page you want on the Browser tab and run the capture; a preview appears first, and tapping save stores it in the Clips tab.

Full-page captures can be exported as either a PDF or an image. For very long pages, the image export may be split across several files.

How do I use isearch (search by image)?

The app has three tabs: "Browser", "Clips" and "Settings". Search using an image you already have, and review the results from the Clips tab.

How do I use iplayer (watch videos while using other apps)?

The app has three tabs: "Folder", "Import" and "Settings". Import videos from your device on the Import tab and they will appear in the list on the Folder tab.

To keep playback going while you use another app, check the Picture in Picture settings in the Settings tab.

How do I use inote (notepad with bulk replace)?

The app has three tabs: "Folder", "Browser" and "Settings". Your notes are listed on the Folder tab; open one to edit it. Bulk replace is available from the note editing screen.

How do I use iblur (mosaic and blur)?

Pick a photo and iBlur automatically finds and hides faces, names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, order numbers, QR codes and barcodes. The result appears right away, and Erase or Clear All undoes it. You can also trace, or draw a rectangle or an ellipse, to hide anything you like, and choose mosaic, blur or solid black. In videos, you choose which people to hide. Before you save or share, iBlur points out anything you may have missed. See the iBlur page for details.

How do I use icut (background remover)?

Pick a photo and on-device AI finds the subject and removes the background. You can copy, share or save the result as a transparent PNG. You can also put a white, black, colored or photo background behind it and adjust the shadow, margins, and the size and position of the subject. If the cutout missed a spot, trace to erase or restore, or erase similar colors in one tap. See the iCut page for details.

How do I use tate (Safari ad blocker)?

Open the app and follow the setup guide: in the Settings app, go to Safari → Extensions and turn on “tate Content Blocker” and “tate Clean Web”. The app checks automatically whether they are on and tells you. It blocks ads, trackers and phishing sites in Safari, and hides nuisances such as cookie notices and “open in app” bars. The rules update automatically every week. Because it uses Safari’s content blocking, ads in other browsers or inside apps, and ads inside videos, may not be blocked.

What should I do when a site looks wrong with tate?

Open the site in Safari, open the extensions menu in the address bar and choose “tate Clean Web”, then tap “Pause tate on this site” to pause it for that site only. “This page looks wrong” on the same screen takes you to “Report a Problem” in the app (the site address is sent only if you choose to). You can also review and restore paused sites under “Site Exceptions” in the app.

Switching to tate: what should I do with my other ad blocker?

Using two Safari-extension ad blockers together can process the same ad twice and make pages break or slow down. When you switch, turn the previous blocker off in Settings → Safari → Extensions. DNS or VPN based blockers can be used alongside tate. tate is a one-time purchase with no subscription; ad blocking, phishing protection and weekly updates are free.

Where do I send bugs or requests for tate, and when will I hear back?

Use “Email a bug or request” in the app, or “This page looks wrong” in the Safari menu. We aim to reply within 2 business days. Sites we have fixed are published in the app's quality report.

Which languages are supported?

The apps support 16 languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Polish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. The display language follows your device's language setting automatically.

Where should I send feature requests or bug reports?

You can reach me from the Settings tab under "About this app" → "Email a bug or request". The contact form on this site works too — attaching a screenshot makes it much easier for me to understand what is happening.
