Privacy Policy

umebo ("I," "me," or "my") provides iOS apps such as "Save Videos - iCap", "Save Images - iDig" and "Combine Images - ConcatImg" and "Poi Photo" (collectively, the "Apps") free of charge. Users may purchase premium features (one-time or monthly subscription) via in-app purchase for a more convenient experience.

This page describes my policy regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for anyone using the Apps and this website (the official umebo website, the "Site").

Article 1 (Collection and Use of Information)

You may be asked to provide certain information while using the Apps, which may include active-user information and crash reports. This information — including any images and videos you save in the Apps — is kept on your device and is not collected by me.

The Apps may use third-party services that collect information used to identify users. I currently use the following third-party services (Poi Photo does not use them; see Article 1-3):

Due to how these services work, advertising identifiers such as the IDFA, device information, and app usage data may be collected. Delivering personalized ads requires permission via iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT). The Apps' core features remain available even if you decline tracking permission.

I use Firebase usage analytics to understand how the Apps are used (for example, which features and screens are used and how often). This analytics does not send the addresses (URLs) or names of web pages you visit, the titles or contents of videos and images you save, or the words you search for. I also do not use your device's advertising identifier in analytics for advertising purposes (the ad delivery service may use advertising identifiers as described above).

In-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store payment system. I do not collect or hold payment information such as credit card numbers. I use receipt information issued by Apple to verify purchases.

Article 1-2 (Face Data)

To hide faces in photos and videos, "iBlur" uses Apple's Vision framework, only on your device, to detect where faces are (the coordinates of a rectangle around each face) and where the eyes are (to place eye bars). The background blur feature also detects the area of a person. The app does not create or obtain any information that could be used for face recognition or to identify a person (such as numerical representations of facial features).

Likewise, "iCut" detects the subject area to remove the background using Apple's Vision framework only on your device, and does not collect, send or store face data.

Article 1-3 (Poi Photo)

"Poi Photo" is an app that helps you free up storage by sorting photos and videos. It does not use the advertising, analytics and crash-reporting services listed in Article 1 (AppLovin MAX and Firebase). It does not obtain advertising identifiers such as the IDFA, and it never shows the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.

Poi Photo communicates over the network only in the following cases.

Article 2 (Log Data)

If an error occurs while using the Apps, I may collect log data. This log data may include your device's IP address, device name, OS version, app settings, the time and date you used the Apps, and other statistics.

Article 3 (Cookies)

The Apps do not explicitly use cookies. However, the Apps use third-party code and libraries, which may use "cookies" to collect information and improve their services.

The Site's analytics are self-hosted: no external analytics service is used, and no cookies are set. To see which pages are being read, each page view records the path, the display language, the hostname of the referring site, the country, and the device type (phone, tablet or desktop). IP addresses themselves are not stored. To tell whether two views came from the same visitor, only an irreversible value derived from the date, the IP address and the browser information is used; because the date is part of it, the value changes every day and cannot be used to follow anyone over time. These records are deleted automatically after 400 days. When you open a question on an FAQ page, the page type, an identifier of the question, the display language, the country and the device type are recorded the same way, to see which questions are read (the text of the question or anything you type is not recorded). I use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent fraudulent submissions and spam on the contact form, which may temporarily use technical cookies or browser storage as part of how it works (Cloudflare's Privacy Policy). The admin panel keeps you signed in using browser local storage rather than cookies.

Article 4 (Information Collected via the Contact Form)

If you use the contact form on the Site, I collect the following information:

I use this information solely to respond to your inquiry, and it is stored on infrastructure (database and storage) provided by Cloudflare. Attachments are automatically deleted 180 days after submission. I will not disclose this information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

Article 5 (Requests to Disclose or Delete Information)

If you wish to request disclosure, correction, or deletion of personal information I hold, please contact me via the contact form. I will respond within a reasonable time.

Article 6 (Children's Privacy)

The Apps and the Site are not primarily intended for use by children under 13.

Article 7 (Changes to This Privacy Policy)

I may update this policy from time to time, so I recommend checking this page periodically. If changes are made, the updated privacy policy will be posted within the Apps or on the Site, and will take effect as soon as it is posted.
