Ads opening pages on their own: the apps now block it too
Sorry for the trouble and worry caused by ads opening Safari and moving you to SHEIN and other sites without a tap.
Until now I blocked these ads network by network, but that always lagged behind ads arriving through new routes. So starting with the versions released on October 12 and 13, 2026, the apps also block this themselves.
- When an ad tries to open Safari, the App Store or another app without being touched, the app stops it.
- Tapping an ad still opens it as before.
- Versions: iDig 12.2 (released October 12) and iCap 9.3 (released October 13). The other apps will get it in their next versions.
Please update to the latest version from the App Store. If a page still opens on its own in the latest version, please send roughly when it happened from Settings → About this app → Email a bug or request.
